Biography

Reid Hunter is a partner at Serling Rooks Hunter McKoy Worob & Averill LLP. Mr. Hunter’s practice is focused on the representation of recording and performing artists ranging from independent artists to international major label artists, songwriters and music producers, as well as branding agencies, music publishers, independent record labels, booking agencies and personal management firms and executives at all levels of the music and entertainment industries. His expertise includes recording and music publishing matters, strategic joint ventures, licensing and branding agreements, merchandise and touring agreements and music-related copyright and trademark issues.

Mr. Hunter’s clients include Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated international artists and songwriters, music producers and mixers, independent record labels, branding agencies, independent music publishing companies, booking agencies, personal managers and management companies, concert promoters and various music and entertainment executives.

Prior to SRH, Mr. Hunter practiced in the technology law area at one of Atlanta’s largest law firms and subsequently served as General Counsel for six years at an Atlanta-based international software technology and service provider. In addition, Mr. Hunter taught music business law and music publishing, as well as copyright law, as an adjunct professor in the Music Industry Program of the School of Music at Georgia State University before moving to New York City. He frequently appears as a guest lecturer at conferences, law schools and universities throughout the U.S.
